Francis Basset (1715–1769) was a Cornish landowner and politician from Tehidy. He served as Member of Parliament for Penryn (1766–69).
He was born the son of Francis (1674–1721) and Mary (née Pendarves) Basset. His father was High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1708.
He and his wife Margaret (daughter of the politician of Sir John St Aubyn, 3rd Baronet) had seven children - Francis (the first child), a younger son, and five daughters.
